What it means
A candidate adoption plan is the rollout plan for introducing a new candidate-facing workflow, tool, portal, communication process, or hiring technology into recruiting operations. It should define which candidate groups are affected, what changes they will experience, how recruiters will explain the process, what support channels exist, and how feedback will be reviewed.
Why buyers should care
Candidate-facing changes affect completion rates, trust, accessibility, response speed, and perceived fairness. A product can look efficient internally while creating confusion for applicants if instructions, consent language, mobile access, or support paths are weak. Buyers should treat adoption planning as part of candidate experience, not only as an internal implementation task.
Evaluation checks
Review candidate instructions, accessibility support, language options, consent notices, status visibility, support ownership, communication templates, and drop-off reporting. Ask vendors how teams test the workflow with realistic applicants before launch and how exceptions are handled when a candidate cannot use the default process.
