Compare applicant tracking systems by the hiring workflow they must run: requisitions, candidate records, stages, interviews, feedback, offers, reporting, and handoffs into HR.
An applicant tracking system is usually the system of record for active hiring. Before comparing ATS vendors, define how jobs are opened, how candidates enter the pipeline, who owns each stage, and how hiring managers give feedback.
Some ATS products focus on structured pipeline management. Others add CRM, sourcing, scheduling, assessments, analytics, onboarding, or HRIS handoffs. Buyers should compare the workflow boundary, not only the product label.
